When a notified body is needed

Most industrial robot cells are self-certified under the machinery rules, but certain categories and certain safety components require a notified body. Check the annexes that apply to your machine type before assuming self-certification is available.

What the technical file should contain

  • Drawings, diagrams and descriptions of the assembly.
  • Risk assessment and the record of risk reduction measures.
  • Standards applied, with the editions.
  • Validation records and measured stopping times.
  • Operating instructions and the declaration of conformity.

Information is provided for initial research. Verify specifications, pricing, policies and standards against the original source before making decisions.
